I blog from the lobby of the ophthalmologists. Will I be wearing bifocals at the age of 41? I know that’s a negative way to look at things but I am so tired of going to the doctor so much.

After not blogging for a while, I’m back.
I still have blood in my urine.
I was referred to a urologist, the appointment is later this month. I want to fix this so much. I want to know why this is happening, and if it is related to my diabetes.
On another note I am almost done with my Bayer Breeze2 meter. I like the meter enough, but the strips are way too expensive. I will be moving to the Accu-Check Compact Plus before the end of the week.
Time to test …
102. Actually down from 118 before breakfast.
4 Bayer strips left.
My 7-day average is 115.
I’m looking forward to that next A1C which will be after the end of this month.

My doctor’s nurse called me back and told me that my IVP came back ok and that I could restart my Metformin. I will be coming back next Friday to give some urine so they can check it for blood again. At least the doctor thinks my bod is getting back to “normal” whatever that means.

Yesterday morning I had an IVP. I had to sign a disclaimer saying among other things that it was possible to die from the procedure. What a warm and fuzzy disclosure!
It took a long time, at least an hour and a half. It didn’t make me feel weird or kill me (yet). I can’t take my Metformin until the doctor says I can. The x-ray tech said that if I did take it, if I didn’t have kidney problems before, I would.
I feel ok, my blood sugar is doing fine. I am trying not to obsess about the test results.
I just want it to be over with.

Tomorrow I go to the podiatrist. I’ll let him know about the cheap deal I got on my compression stockings at http://www.foryourfeet.com . His source wants $30, in a quantity 10 I bought mine for $17.11. That’s a savings of $128.90, and his source was selling the Juzo 5700, now discontinued where mine are the Juzo 5800, the latest version. I will ask him also about some soreness I have in my left big toe.

Well, the ultrasound didn’t show anything, but I still have blood in my urine, so Tuesday I have a test called an IVP. The inject dye in your arm and x-ray your body. If this doesn’t find the source of the bleeding I will have to see a urologist.
My doctor had me go to the pharmacy and have them split my Amaryl pills from 4 mg to 2 mg. Hopefully this will help with my hunger.

I have my primary doctor appointment this morning. Hopefully he will say the ultrasound looked fine.
I have a podiatry appointment on Monday, and ophthalmology appointment near the end of the month.Right now it is entirely possible I will be able to enjoy the whole month of October without a doctor’s appointment. Can that happen? I doubt it. I know that I will need to have my A1C checked 91 days after September 2nd, I’ll do the math when I feel more coherent.

Well, I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning and hopefully he will talk to me about my ultrasound results. I hope all is well. I’m still nervous, and yes a little frightened.
I bought one of those digital body fat scales. If you think your scales are giving you ridiculously low results, make sure you are on a very flat piece of floor. Now if it could just update a database on my computer using Bluetooth…

Well, yesterday was a very frustrating day in general. Nothing seemed to go right or be working the way it was supposed to at work, and I got a rude email from a fellow frustrated coworker, which put me in a right foul mood. I don’t see myself going out of my way to talk to him anytime soon.
The doctor’s office was supposed to call in my metformin refill last week, I checked all the pharmacies I ever use because the pharmacy I told them to use didn’t have it, so I thought maybe they called it in to a different one and no one had heard or seen my refill. Finally the pharmacy I have decided to use all the time now because I don’t want to have to wonder where a prescription was called in is on the other line with the doctor’s office, taking my called in prescription. I ask them about my lancets and strips for my new meter, and they say they will be in this afternoon, so I decide to go pick everything up yesterday afternoon.
I go pick my stuff up, they only have six of my metformin. So I will have to go back later this week to get the rest of it. Then I get home, they sent the wrong lancets and the test strips weren’t in the bag at all. I call them back, “We didn’t get the strips in today like we thought we would. Try again tomorrow.” I’ll come back when I run out of metformin, hopefully it will be in by then.
Today some of the technical issues have been improved. I will try to get a haircut.
I hope today finishes better than yesterday. -
