I survived the visit to the podiatrist. It is actually one of the most non-threatening medical environments I’ve been in. He trimmed my toenails and did a much better job than I could ever hope to do on my own.

He said I needed to increase the circulation in the calves and in my feet, so he recommended a medium compression stocking. For shoes he recommended New Balance (which I was glad, they are my favorite brand) 606s or 608s. I went to a local shoe store and picked up a pair of black 608s and a pair of white 608s. I will alternate them so they don’t get worn out so soon. My old shoes – well, they looked very rough. He also said to never go barefoot.

The new shoes feel great. I’m starting to feel like a whole new person.
