I had my nutrition class. One thing they talked about was using the term “meal plan” instead of “diet”. I like this. When I think of a diet, I think of something that starts and ends. I will be using this meal plan for life. I felt good after I left the training.

For lunch I went to Chick-fil-a and I had a grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato, fruit cup, and their Diet Lemonade (it is made with Splenda). I figure each part of the bun was 2 carb servings, the fruit cup was one carb serving, the chicken one protein. I didn’t have any fat for that meal but that’s ok. I looked at the honey mustard sauce, and since high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) was the second ingredient I didn’t eat it. The educator said that if you don’t have a full nutrition label but you do have a list of ingredients, and sugar or HFCS were in the top 3 ingredients you probably shouldn’t eat it.

I don’t miss Dr. Pepper. I really wish I had stopped drinking it long ago, but hindsight is 20/20, and I need to not dwell on the past but look forward to the possibilities of today.
